COSMIC DESIGN - Harmonies and patterns between the minuscule and the magnificent are embedded in the wonderful energy field patterns of nature seen in flowers, seeds, shells, pinecones and more. If we time lapse a plant growing, it does so in spiral form, just as the solar system is travelling through the galaxy; the planets spiralling around with the sun. [link]
The energy hub from centre of flower to bulbous creation of seeds at the centre, is the power of the torus energy from the vortex.
My current design theme is exploring layered possibilities with natural forms and patterns over landscapes and seascapes to create new patterned ambient environments; on silk and wood.
TEXTILE DESIGN has traditionally used pattern forms of plants and flowers, lending themselves to stylisation for repeatable pattern making. Those forms are connected with the electric universe, as amazing reflections of life. Textiles themselves often mimic the cosmos with their distributed images and patterns over a field.
DESIGN PROJECTS aim to show something unique and charming from each fresh photo or drawing study. Aspects from photographs on this site may be used in designs: the flowers specifically for silk painting. My brief is to combine images of forest and sea ambient environments with an overlay of geometrical forms taken from natural forms.
These will be digital artworks, offered as prints, to be printed on sustainable fabric such as hemp to embellish as pictures, or hangings. Some of my photographs give 50" actual size images, suitable for murals or smaller print-outs to boards or trays with incapsulated with varnish.
FOREST AND COAST trips provide photography inspiration. Early drawing gave me an insight into the fascinating structure of plants perfected by nature's evolution, which cannot be improved upon. Harmonies are always within each plant as it resonates in spiral growth within the energies of the cosmos - 'as above so below'. I'm inspired to see connections between natural forms and the cosmos electric universe- even those we cannot see.
